Shan State Chief Minister, Dr Linn Htut, was sentenced to 16 years in prison with hard labour today. He was arrested on 10 Feb, held incommunicado until 16 July & charged with 4 different counts under the Anti-Corruption Law – politically motivated given his affiliation with NLD.

Family of Dr Linn Htut is extremely worried about his health as he has heart problems, diabetes and hypertension. He is 62, & 16 years imprisonment with hard labour means his family may never see him again. No family should ever go through this.
